Operating inside controlled and restricted airspace

The challenge
A great deal of the most valuable ground in Alberta sits inside controlled airspace. City construction sites, ring road corridors, industrial facilities near aerodromes and hospital precincts with heliports are all places where a Basic certified operator simply cannot fly. Clients often discover this after booking someone who cannot complete the work.
The site
Edmonton and Calgary control zones, corridors adjacent to military airspace, industrial sites near aerodromes, and urban precincts with active heliports.
Equipment and method
Transport Canada Advanced RPAS certification, authorization obtained through NAV CANADA, and direct coordination with military aerodromes where a corridor crosses their airspace. Where a project requires it, a Special Flight Operations Certificate is applied for. Authorization is treated as part of the scope and started before the work window rather than on the day.

Deliverables
The same deliverables as any other project, on sites most operators have to decline.
Result
Corridor work adjacent to the military aerodrome north of Edmonton has been completed with authorization coordinated through the base. Urban construction, industrial and event work has been delivered inside control zones across both major Alberta cities.
