Case study / Southern Alberta / Asset inspection
83 turbine position file verified before mobilisation
Building and verifying an 83 turbine KMZ position file before any aircraft mobilised, plus the licensing framework around the imagery.
The challenge
A multi day mobilisation to a large wind site fails on day one if turbine positions are wrong. The client also needed image rights settled before work began, because the imagery would be used across their own reporting.
The site
An 83 turbine wind farm in southern Alberta.
Equipment and method
Positions built from the national wind turbine dataset, cross checked against client records, numbered to the site convention and delivered as a KMZ ahead of travel. Image rights were negotiated and issued as a standalone licensing document alongside the services agreement.
Airspace and safety
Rural airspace with flight planning around turbine geometry and standoff distances set in advance.
Deliverables
Verified KMZ position file delivered before mobilisation, per asset imagery indexed to the position numbering, and a standalone image licensing document.
Result
A confirmed position file in hand before anyone travelled, and a rights position where copyright stays with Drone360 while the client holds a broad perpetual licence. Neither point had to be revisited during the work.
