Drone services for municipalities and public works in Alberta
Municipal work turns on quantities that can be checked and records that hold up. Every measured area is delivered against a scaled image so anyone at the table can verify the number.
Pavement measurement across roads, lots and corridors produces per segment areas reconciled in a workbook against tendered quantities, with each polygon shown over the imagery. A recent program covered approximately 250,000 m² across four corridors, coordinated so the road authority and the paving contractor worked from one agreed set of quantities.
Landfill and waste facility monitoring combines terrain capture for airspace and volume reporting with pre dawn thermal flights for subsurface hot spot detection.
Capital project documentation, park and facility imagery, and dated records for council reporting round out the typical municipal scope.

How it works
See how we do the restHow we find cracks, ruts and ponding on a road

Read the steps
- Capture in passesThe drone flies the corridor in overlapping passes, capturing the full pavement width in detail without crews walking the lanes.
- Surface modelA detailed surface model shows the shape of the pavement, so wheel path ruts stand out.
- Cracks tracedCracks are traced from the imagery and classed by type: longitudinal, transverse and alligator.
- Ponding riskLow spots where water will pond are found from the surface model before they become potholes.
- Findings by chainageFindings are tied to chainage and lane, ready for the paving crew and the maintenance plan.
